American Heart Association BLS Renewal

American Heart Association BLS Renewal

Introduction

Are you in search of a Basic Life Support (BLS) renewal class? American Heart Association BLS certification is required for several professions, including healthcare providers, students and educators. Whether you need to complete an AHA BLS renewal course or take your first-time AHA BLS provider course, we have you covered at CPR Philadelphia. We offer one-day Basic Life Support training classes at our Willow Grove office location.

What will I learn in a BLS certification class?

The American Heart Association has developed a course that teaches you how to respond in an emergency. You will learn how to perform CPR and use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

You'll also learn the following skills:

  • How to take a pulse
  • How to open an airway
  • How to give resuscitation with a bag-valve-mask device (BVM)

How long is the AHA BLS renewal course?

The American Heart Association BLS renewal course is 1.5 hours long and includes both classroom and hands-on learning. The classroom portion takes about 45 minutes, while the instructor will spend the remaining time demonstrating how to use an AED on a mannequin. Once you've passed the exam, you'll receive a same-day American Heart Association BLS card to prove your certification. It remains valid for 2 years after the date you complete the training course. Once your certification has expired, just head back to Willow Grove CPR for another renewal course!

Who should complete American Heart Association BLS Renewal?

You will need to renew your AHA BLS certification if you are required to do so by an employer or a regulatory body, such as the American Heart Association. If you want to refresh your skills and practice them in the real world, then it would be a wise investment of time and money for you to complete our online renewal course.

In addition to ensuring that healthcare professionals have current training, we also recommend this course for anyone who wants to learn CPR or improve their skills as an instructor. If that's not enough reasons for you, we'll give you one more: by completing this course, people can feel safer knowing that there is someone nearby who knows how to administer immediate first aid in case of emergency.
