Course Content
The BLS Provider Course offered by the American Heart Association includes the following course content:
- Introduction to Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED use
- Child and Infant CPR and AED use
- Choking Relief techniques for adults, children, and infants
- Use of ventilation devices, bag-mask techniques, and advanced airway devices
- Team dynamics and communication during resuscitation
- High-quality CPR skills, including chest compressions, ventilation, and depth and rate of compressions.
- Recognition and management of cardiac arrest and other respiratory emergencies
- BLS algorithms and their application in different emergency scenarios
- Use of feedback devices and technologies to enhance CPR performance.
Throughout the course, experienced instructors will provide hands-on training utilizing advanced manikins and up-to-date techniques.
Completing the BLS Provider Course allows participants to earn their American Heart Association BLS Provider certification, which remains valid for two years.

In order to attend the BLS Renewal Session participants must have a valid BLS Provider level Card, and the date of the class must not exceed the end of the month labeled on their current card.
