The American Heart Association (AHA) says that more than 90% of people who suffer a cardiac arrest outside the hospital are likely to die. But if bystander CPR is performed, it can double or triple a victim’s chance of survival. That makes learning how to perform CPR an important life skill that you should have in your back pocket at all times. If you don’t know how to do CPR yet, now is the perfect time to take up BLS provider training!
The AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course is a comprehensive course that teaches CPR, AED and team dynamics. The certification teaches you how to treat sudden cardiac arrest victims until professional help arrives. It’s the most widely recognized and accepted certification for healthcare professionals.
In the hands-on skills evaluation, you will be asked to perform a number of tasks that are based on real-world scenarios. The instructor will guide you through these scenarios and provide feedback on how well you performed the tasks.
The hands-on skills evaluation is done in a classroom setting with other students and instructors watching your performance. This allows for instructor oversight and supervision, as well as an opportunity for each student to be evaluated individually. In addition, it ensures that all students receive similar amounts of feedback from their peers and instructors so that no one feels singled out or unfairly judged based on skill level or performance abilities during testing periods.
In order to ensure fair judgement when evaluating each individual's skills set prior to certification (this may include but not limited), we ask all students who desire this certification please familiarize themselves with online resources such as videos or other learning tools which will help prepare them for upcoming training sessions held by our staff here at Willow Grove CPR.
When you take up BLS Provider Training, the American Heart Association will issue you a certification card that is valid for two years. You can use your AHA BLS certification card in any medical facility across the country, regardless of whether it is an emergency room or a hospital. In addition to being valid for all age groups and levels of health care providers, AHA BLS certification cards are accepted above other organizations like the National Safety Council and Red Cross.
AHA BLS Certification Card Issued at the Conclusion of Your Course
